She did it y'all!! Milla Hartford WON the Poetry Out Loud State Competition on Friday, March 8th in Waynesboro, Virginia! We’re so proud of her hard work and her poised, polished poetry recitations!!
Last month’s 2nd Annual Black History Month Poetry Slam was amazing! Henrico Co students graced the stage with poise, voice, and power. Deep Run’s own Jonathan Dubois was recognized as the High School Recipient of the Maya Angelou Recognition of Voice & Activism and received the Amanda Gorman Recognition for Change/Best Overall Performance!

Our DRHS Writing Center consultants have had fun connecting with former teachers and making new friends at Twin Hickory Elementary School as they worked with 4th and 5th grade students on writing.
What an incredible celebration of diversity at Deep Run High School's Culture Day Event! 🌍✨
From walking down the red carpet in stunning traditional attire to showcasing talents in the talent show, every moment was filled with the vibrant spirit of our diverse community.
And let's not forget the amazing array of cultural cuisines that delighted our taste buds! 🍲🥟 Together, we shared in the flavors and stories that make each culture unique.

✨ AFJROTC Highlight ✨ Several cadets from AFJROTC recently spent their Friday volunteering at the Richmond VA Medical Center. Cadet Pradyumn Jha, who volunteered at the hospital over the summer, coordinated with the civic engagement office to provide this opportunity. Cadets toured the hospital, engaged with veterans, learned about volunteer opportunities, and were treated to pizza for lunch. The gentleman in the wheelchair is Mr. Derrick D. Bazemore who served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam war.

Debate team is 6A Region Runner-Up!! They placed first or 2nd in every single category. Most notably Vihaan Dutta and Pranav Chinthakuntla are the 6A Regional Champions in Policy. Congratulations!!
