Student Experience

Computer Science Honor Society

“My experience as a member and president of the CSHS has been positive. The organization has provided me with many learning opportunities to expand my knowledge of computer science. More importantly I have learned what it means to use computer science to give back. My favorite experience was the 'Hour of Code 'event where my officers and I introduced computer science to middle school students in the local community.”

- Andrew Lee, CIT student and Computer Science Honor Society president

Computer Club

"Computer Club is a great place for students to learn from other students. At Computer Club, any student from Deep Run can join and explore diverse facets of computer science, ranging from game design to quantum computing to hardware to artificial intelligence, all while making friends with similar technology interests. As the president of Computer Club for two years, I've witnessed firsthand how the unique student-led structure of this club gives students an opportunity to learn about things they might not get a chance to in school. The snacks are a great part of the club as well!"

- Anooshka Pendayal, CIT student and Computer Club president

Girls of CIT

“Being in the Girls of CIT since freshman year, I was able to gain a meaningful experience and a supportive community that encourages each other in all aspects. Whether it's engaging in meaningful discussions, participating in events or collaborating on projects, Girls of CIT fosters an environment where we can thrive and grow together. Throughout high school, I could make friends from different grade levels in CIT. Overall, Girls of CIT allowed me to socialize with other girls with similar interests and to encourage one another.”

- Grace Lee, CIT student and Girls of CIT president

CIT Council

“I have been on the CIT Council for three years. I was the secretary my sophomore and junior years and president my senior year. I have really enjoyed getting to know everyone in CIT no matter the grade, and a big reason I was able to do this was the Council. Since we organize so many Center events, I get to interact with basically the whole center each time. I have also really enjoyed being a part of the Council because it allows me to bring some of my ideas for the center to life and I am able to rely on the whole Council to help me. I would say that the CIT council has a big hand in helping the Center run and each person on the Council is a leader in the center which makes it more memorable! “

- Simran Chavan, CIT student and CIT Council president
